Public Relations term is dead?
(El artículo es una respuesta al comentario posteado en http://www.prssa.org/blog/post.aspx?Id=45)
Under our focus, Public relations is really in motion. One reason could be the different applications of the philosophy, the real concept, of PR. In fact, we are having the same problem: general public doesn’t understand PR… and other definitions are like a open-door-policy.
Let me show an example, I’ve been “Responsable de comunicació” (Communication person on charge in catalan) in a professional association and for many people is undestood under a technical profile। Anything further! The tasks were based on institutional, brand expansion, internal relations, media relations…
Now, I’ve just moved to another company under “Franchise Development Supervisor” business card. And I believe in the relational methodology, so I’m doing the same relational tasks but with a different goal.
I think this situation contributes to disfocuse our profession. But, why just changing our job title our faith increases? what a pity!
